Announcing: The Seedling Collective's Summer Pop-Up Competition!

Have you heard? We’re hosting a pop-up competition this summer with none other than AEDP’s Pop-Up Alexandria Program… and you’re invited to participate!

We’re offering three creative, professional entrepreneurs the opportunity to pop-up in our beautiful studio this summer - for free! That’s right, no rental fee required. All you’ll pay is a $150 cleaning fee and winners will need to pledge 6% of their reported sales to their choice of an Alexandria charity. This means a savings of up to $1550 if you take advantage of the entire week! You’ll be able to pop-up for up to one week during the following sessions:

July 29 - August 4

August 5 - 8

August 12-18

August 19-25

Winners will choose the dates and time period that works best for their own business. Please note that August 9-11 is tentatively reserved for the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale and will not be eligible for the pop-up competition.

We will be working with AEDP’s Marie Plishka (director of Pop-Up Alexandria) to select the winners and we will be judging entrants on professionalism, quality of product, pop-up retail experience, and viability of entering the Old Town market. If you have never done a pop-up before, don’t let this deter you from entering: previous pop-up experience is not required! It’s helpful if you have it, but we’re specifically aiming to introduce new brands and concepts to Old Town so if you can demonstrate quality product, we’re happy to have you.

Why are we offering our studio for free? Because we want to give local creatives an opportunity to shine. This is a fun way to introduce our studio to people who may not think of us as feasible for their business and to show the value of investing in a pop-up down the road. We hope to host more competitions like this in the future for our members and for the greater Alexandria network as a whole!

Previous successful pop-ups at our studio have reported that the experience gave them the opportunity to connect to and build their client network, generate interest in their brand, and - of course - sell. The Scout Guide Alexandria pulled in over $7000 during their one-week pop-up! As a competition winner you’ll benefit from marketing assistance from AEDP and The Seedling Collective… the buzz on this is already generating and we can’t wait to see what it develops into.
